The general industrial case — mixed motor and process loads, a distribution room that has to be planned rather than squeezed in, and equipment that has to match a specific single-line diagram.
A general industrial plant is the most common export order and the least specialised. The load is mixed: some feeders carry motors that start hard, some carry process heating or lighting with a high power factor, and some carry sensitive equipment that should not sit on the same busbar as a furnace feeder.
The practical difficulty is the fit. The distribution room is rarely designed around the equipment — it is designed around the building, and the switchgear line-up has to work within the depth, width and height that the room allows. The busbar rating, the number of panels, the cable entry direction and the maintenance access all have to be resolved against a real room, not a nominal one.
The second difficulty is the single-line diagram. Industrial projects are usually drawn by the owner's own engineer or by a local design institute, and the specification is tight: exact ratings, exact component classes, exact accessories. Supplying against that document is what we do daily, and it is why a drawing-based quotation is usually more useful to a buyer than a catalogue price.
| Equipment | Role in this application |
|---|---|
| KYN28A-12 MV switchgear | 12kV incoming and feeder switchgear built against the project's single-line diagram |
| GGD / MNS low-voltage switchgear | Power distribution and motor control for the plant's low-voltage loads |
| SCB18 / S13 transformers | Supply units matched to the plant's installed load and to the space available |
| SVG and capacitor banks | Power factor correction where the utility bills on power factor or where the load varies widely |
Equipment combinations shown are typical configurations for this type of installation. The delivered configuration is confirmed in the technical agreement against your single-line diagram and site conditions.
Panel width, depth, height, the entry direction and the maintenance access are confirmed against the room drawing before the line-up is fixed. This is the most common cause of a late change.
The busbar rating, the arrangement (single or sectionalised) and the neutral treatment depend on the fault level and on the earthing arrangement, and they are confirmed in the technical agreement.
Feeder protection is coordinated with the motor protection and the transformer impedance so that a motor fault does not trip the transformer and a transformer fault does not take the plant down.
Where the utility tariff includes a power factor penalty, the compensation target and the switching mode have to match the actual load profile rather than a single design point.
Spare panels, spare cubicle space and the provision for a future incomer are cheap to include during manufacture and expensive to add after installation. We include them where the drawing allows.
Yes, and that is the recommended route. Send the drawing and the equipment schedule and we quote against the actual configuration, so the price reflects what you receive.
Send the room drawing with the equipment enquiry. We check the panel dimensions, the cable entry and the access route against the drawing and tell you in the quotation if anything needs to change.
One unit. A first order for a single transformer or one switchgear panel is a normal way for a new buyer to start, and we do not impose a minimum order quantity.
We supply the equipment, the approved general arrangement drawing, the routine factory test reports and the operation and maintenance manual, and we support the commissioning team on technical questions. Installation and grid connection are the contractor's scope.
Send the single-line diagram or the equipment schedule, the destination country and the quantity. We reply with a configuration proposal and a price, normally within 24 hours.
